The first lesson

Some say that Merong was a descendant of Alexander the Great. But this fact was never proved. More recent version have now also surfaced saying that he was a Hindu prince by the name of Maran Mahavamsam."Maha" means "great" according to the Hindu culture while "Vamsam" means "lineage or descent". 

 Merong Mahawangsa is not a name that is unknown among our local folklore lovers. Even though Merong was known as a great king and a great warrior, the setting goes far back even before there was Tanah Melayu (now known as Malaysia). It dates back in the empire of Majapahit from Java and Rome was the dominant ruler of the world.
